Q: How do I secure a booking?

A: Your base package/minimum spend is required to be paid up-front to secure your date. I will send you an invoice for payment and a portrait agreement will need to be signed.

 

Q: What days can I book my session?

A: I am a full-time photographer, which means I can be very flexible around your schedule. However, I do recommend that outdoor portraits are taken close to sunrise or sunset for the most beautiful, flattering light. $50 discount applies for weekday bookings.

 

Q: Will you travel for a shoot?

A: Included in your portrait session is travel within 40kms of Brisbane CBD. Travel as far as the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, or Toowoomba is an additional $50. Travel further distances is by negotiation.

 

Q: What happens if the weather is bad on the day?

A: I keep an eye on the forecast and will be in touch if I think we need to reschedule. If the weather turns unexpectedly on the day, we can also reschedule all or part of the session.

 

Q: Can I buy the digital files from my shoot?

A: Watermarked low-res files suitable for social media use are supplied for all sessions as part of the base package/minimum spend. High-res files are not available to purchase. I archive edited images from your session for five years, and any ordered as prints in perpetuity as a safeguard against loss or damage.

 

Q: Who owns the Copyright to the images?

A: When you hire me for a session and sign the Portrait Agreement supplied, you assign Copyright to Kathy McMillan Photography for all images produced. This is a condition of me accepting the booking. Please read your agreement carefully, and the terms outlined here to ensure you understand what this means.

 

Q: You can Photoshop that right?

A: The creation fee includes colour corrections, light retouching (removal of temporary blemishes), removal of leads and possibly collars for companion animal sessions (if they detract from the image), and conversion to black and white. Any additional Photoshop work is $50 an hour and a quote will be provided for your request.

 

Q: Can you supply an online gallery instead of an ordering appointment?

A: No, my policy is to present images to clients in person. It is important that all decision makers attend the ordering appointment. Package discounts will only apply to orders received at or before the ordering appointment.

 

Q: Do you accept credit card payments?

A: Yes, credit card (not debit card) payments are available (Visa and Mastercard). Other payment options are direct debit into my business bank account, PayPal, or interest-free lay-by payment plan.

 

Q: I don’t like how I look in the images! Can we re-shoot?

A: If you want a re-shoot because you didn’t like your hair/makeup/clothes/expression, then we can certainly re-shoot and I will give you a 25% discount on the session fee if you book the re-shoot within 14 days of your ordering appointment. The original subjects may only be photographed during the re-shoot.
